Tattoos have such a great way of encompassing all the main questions we learn in school.
1) Who do you think would get one? Who indeed has one?
2) What is it? What is the story?
3) When did you get it?
4) Where is it?
5) Why did you get it?
6) How much did it hurt?

Day 2 - Window Light
Window light seemed like a good subject for today since I was at a church with some interesting windows. And then when I was over at Wayfaring Wanderer and saw her amazing window shots it inspired me further.

Photo Challenging
Lately I've been thinking about how I really want to post something new on here every day. And I think the reason that I haven't is because I've been placing too many "rules" on myself about what that is supposed to be and look like. I was thinking of some sort of daily challenge where each day I shoot and post a handful of shots about a certain subject. But then I run into - what should the subjects be, how many shots do I really need, should it be purely out of camera shots or is photoshopping allowed, where will I go to get enough to be different every day with my limited time to myself, and what do I do when I run out of ideas. And then it seems to becoming more like required work and less like fun.
SO, I've decided to keep it simple and fun. Because, really, if it's not fun, why do it? I've seen some other sites that just post one picture a day every day - I can do that. And if there are days that I have more - I can do that. And if anyone reading this had ideas, thoughts, suggestions, or requests for things (or groups of things) that I can take pictures of - share way, and I can try that. So, without further ado (and further procrastination, self-doubt, worry, rules, and excuses)...
Day 1 - Color
It's a bleak and rainy day out, but there is still color to be found.

Another Chance to Create
A couple weeks ago I had the winning bid on a new (to me) Nikon D50. I had really hoped that it would get here in time to use at the wedding I helped shoot last Saturday (see below), but the advertised 2-3 day priority shipping took a week. So, Monday I excitedly tore into my delivery eager to try my new purchase, only to find that the guy had sent with virtually zero battery life left. Was a charger included in my camera purchase? Sadly, no. After some calling and research, it was back to ebay where I bought the charger for $8.32, and prepared myself for yet another week of waiting...
But the wait is over - my charger has arrived! And my battery is now charged. I have two functional digital SLR cameras and two different kind of lenses. I'm really excited to try them out at a shoot. I anticipate it being really nice not having to switch between my 18-55 and 55-200 lens, but having both at the same time (not quite as good as having a 18-200 lens, but considerably cheaper). I want to see about trading in my extra 18-55 (the D50 came with the lens making it an even better deal) for credit towards a 70-300... we'll see.
Anyway, I of course had to walk around my house (it's been rather rainy outside) trying out my new acquisition and taking random shots.

Ryan & Wendy 9/13/08
I helped with another wedding this past weekend. Was reminded that I need to work on telling people how to pose. Felt like I made some good progress with using my new flash. Had some fun and challenging backgrounds. The couple was great about going wherever was needed for the shot. All in all very successful and I was glad to have the opportunity.
Congratulations Wendy and Ryan!

Morning Fog
While I was driving yesterday morning I got stopped in traffic on a bridge. As I looked out my window I was actually glad because the seen was so cool to me. So, I grabbed my camera of the seat and took a couple of shots.
