Jenni's Kids

Had a "mini" session today with my friend Jenni's kids. Both sons were very cooperative, but it took most of the session (plus distractions, plus bribery) for her daughter to warm up and agree to climb out of mom's arms. When she did she had the most beautiful smile.

Z times 3

Spent some time with three lively kids tonight. The oldest is 5 and she did great - loved being in front of the camera. The youngest is just a couple weeks old, and she spent the majority of time trying to wiggle herself away. The middle... well he's a one-year-old boy and didn't give a fig about being in pictures. All their names start with the letter "Z", and they are all adorable.

Ralph & Esther 6/13/09

My road trip this past weekend was for the purpose of attending a wedding in Edmonton Alberta. I know Esther from college, and she and Ralph are a great couple. While at the wedding I had the chance to briefly assist Jonathan Durling for the ceremony portion of the day. It was a beautiful day and I was glad to have a small part in it.

Road Trip

For the most part I spent this weekend in the car. A friend and I made the long trek up to Edmonton Alberta stopping for several short visits along the way. The nice part about it is that no matter which way we turned we were taking the "scenic route". So much beauty up there it's hard to take in. From soaring mountains to wide open skies - I wanted to stop every few minutes and snap away... but that would have made for a much too long trip. So I settle for these shots grabbed through the window of our car.

Her First Hair Cut

I have never cut her hair. At first it was because it took so long to grow in. Later it was because it finally made her look like a girl. And somehow, somewhere along the way, I think I became attached to it as a mark of how far she'd come. How much she'd grown. As if to cut it would be to take time away.

And then - it kept getting in her eyes. She kept pulling out her pony tails and letting it fall in her face. So today, I'd had it. And, forgetting that I have no idea how to properly cut hair, I took the scissors to my child....

Grady & Aisha 5/30/2009 Wedding

Helped Kayla with yet another wedding this past Saturday. It was sunny and warm, and I have an inkling that most people left with a bit of a sunburn. There were some great locations though, combined with a fun couple, and willing bridal party. Good times were had - and good pictures taken.
