Despite the ominous gray clouds, and off and on sprinkling, this family and I decided to go for the outside session. We met at one of my favorite parks to photograph at. There are just so many fun backgrounds. The girls did a great job, and there was zero complaining. Near the end the 3-year-old even said "this is fun" - a rave review from a child within view of a playground.

Cadence
Cadence is one of the quartets to come out of the Sweet Adelines chorus, Voices Northwest. They are currently the 2010 Region 13 5th place quartet - and they make me laugh ;)

Little Miss R
Miss R was a first for me - my first baby session without a single second of crying. In fact, outside of hiccups near the end, she didn't make a sound. It was pretty amazing. She was pretty amazing.
Thanks for having me over today, and Congratulations!

Narcissistic
Today I used the newly found freedom of having my child in pre-school to go and get a haircut. It only took me about 5 months to make an appointment to use the gift certificate I had. The point is, I got it done.
I told them I was bored. That I wanted something that was "fun" and "flippy". The lady gently asked how much time I was planning on putting into styling my hair to maintain the fun and flip. When I sheepishly admitted "oh, um... probably not much" she told me she could do it, but it wouldn't look the same if I didn't put some time into it. I like how it turned out, and I like the idea that somewhere deep down my hair could be fun - if only I'd spend some time on it... But the honest truth is, I probably won't. Yet I want others to see what it could look like. To have them be able to say when they see me, "cute haircut", because they saw what it could be, even if when they see it the cut's fully potential is not being realized.
And while I'll admit I did not take these photos, technically they are still "Blazey Photography" as brought to you by my husband.
So without further ado. Here is the before:

1st Day of School
Today was my daughter's first day of preschool. Though, she did ask me to "mom, please don't call it "pre-school". It's "school"." This morning she asked about every five minutes or so if it was time to go yet. I told her "no, not until after lunch." Then a little while later (at about 9:30am) she asked me "mom, can I have lunch now?" It was cute. I'm glad she's excited to start school.
A blink of the eye, and then - college.

Kyla & Richie
A couple weekends ago I assisted my friend Kayla at a wedding. There was a lot of running around, but some fun locations to be found. And in the name of being "assisted" and "fun" I've decided to try out some new actions on a batch of photos from the wedding.
Still more experimenting to be done, but I'm liking the new options.

N & M - child portraits
Yesterday evening I spent some time with these adorable kids. He was very excited about showing me his airplane, she hated her new fancy dress, and they were both very cute.
