An Almost 3-year-old

I was reminded that three years ago today was the first day past my due date. Three years ago today (and for the 7 days after that) I thought I had been lied to by the prenatal class entitled "Babies Come Out". Three years ago today when we were considering naming her after the muse of comedy I had no idea how much she really would make me laugh.

I cannot believe she is almost three.

Feisty Fashion

She's almost three... oh my word, what did that happen?

Not the point. The point is my days of having input into what she wears are numbered. As a testament to that fact, and a preview of wonders yet to come, today she dressed herself. It was probably 33 degrees out this morning, and I warned her that she'd be cold, but there was no talking her out of those shorts. Perhaps in an attempt to warm more of her legs she also chose her very stylish cherry boots.

Oh my.

Frosty

The mornings have been quite chilly, but on the upside, we've also had some sun. It's been really interesting to see the melting patterns form on the grass as the sun moves across the sky.

Here they are - the last of the family shoot with the WHOLE GROUP (plus a couple extra random ones for good measure). It was definitely a learning experience in the areas of wrangling and sunlight awareness.

1/17/2009 Wedding

Spent a good chunk of today at a wedding. However, since the ceremony was in the early afternoon it finished in time for me to be able to get a sampling up.

The groomsmen at this wedding were pretty funny. I've never seen a handing over of the rings quite like they did it... no these aren't those pictures - I was just saying.

Her something old was her great grandmother's ring.

Family Session - 8

Here is the last of the family units that made up the larger family session. They had the most members in attendance - which is to be expected since we were all at their house. You should recognize some of the individuals from their other smaller family breakouts.

Definitely a fun group with some great energy.

Flooding

While definitely not pretty, the flooding around here is at least noteworthy. And as such I figure I'd give it a place on my blog. Strange to compare it to the beautiful and serene snow images from just a few weeks ago.
